UNITED NATIVE NATIONS SUPPORTS LYTTON FIRST NATION

(Coast Salish Territory / Vancouver, July 12 2007)

United Native Nations (UNN) strongly supports the Lytton First Nations in their July 11 two-hour blockade of the Trans-Canada Highway and July 10 information picket. The VSA Highway Maintenance strike, in effect since April 23, 2007, means that the Lytton ferry, the only link between the reserve on the west side of the Fraser River to the town of Lytton and Highway 1, has severely curtailed its service. VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 13, 2007 — The Honourable Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, today announced an investment of $105 million over five years for new partnership projects across Canada.
