Program Information
- 13 Week program for Aboriginal Women
- Gain knowledge and experience in FIVE building construction trades
- Specific skills training: Worksafe Awareness; Level 1 First Aid; WHMIS Certification,
•Basic computer use; Employment Standards & Human Rights awareness
•Participants will begin to explore/research the different areas of employment in the construction building trades
•Practical hands-on training will give Aboriginal women experience with tools, equipment and materials in a construction environment
•Painting & Decorating
•Heavy Equipment Operation orientation on 50 acres at the operating engineers training site in Surrey
•Metal Trades – Pipefitting (Plumbing), Welding and Fabricating
